Good afternoon my dear
friends, praying all is well with everyone and their families. Seems like Christmas always comes in like a
rushing flood and before we know it, we’re into the New Year. I admit Christmas is very different this year
with the passing of my sweet step-son. I’m
never sure if the day will bring sadness or a bit of joy, but no matter what
the emotion or feelings are I do my best to praise God through it all…it’s
through my praise that God is glorified, my faith renewed and my spirit
strengthened.
Now, please forgive me for
the lateness of these posts as I have been having serious computer troubles
but, think that I now have all of that resolved. So today I will give you days 5-8 and
tomorrow we’ll be completely caught up with 9 & 10. As I said when I started this Advent journey,
I’m not the craftiest of a person, but trying to come up with ideas that bring
the post to life a bit. My children are
enjoying them and I pray that you are too.
Day 5 of Advent
Salvation through Jesus' sacrifice
Salvation through Jesus' sacrifice
Matthew 1:21
"Mary will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
Day 6 of Advent
Jesus bridged the gap between Heaven (God) and earth (humanity)
Matthew 1:22-23
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet, "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, God with us.
Day 7 of Advent
House and line (chain) of David/Jesus' genealogy
Luke 2:4
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Jude, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to house and line of David.
Day 8 of Advent
Journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem
Luke 2:5
Joseph went to Bethlehem to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
