Day 1 of Advent

Good morning my lovely friends, praying your week is off to a great start.  It’s been a little while since I’ve shared or written anything, but I promise I am still here and pray that all is well with each of you.  Hoping you had a blessed Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, family and fun.  It’s that time of year again…where if we aren’t careful we’ll get caught up in gift buying and the material part of it all.  It is my prayer that we all take the time to remember what this time of year is truly about…The birth of Jesus.

Those of you who have followed me in the past know how I am always searching for a new project for my family; something to encourage our spirituality and personal relationship with Christ.  If you remember, last year I bought special boxes for each of them and started the 25 days of Christmas.  Each morning when they woke inside the boxes was a little note; telling them what Christmas is all about, how special they are and how they can live a life for Christ. They enjoyed them so much we decided to do them again this year.

However, in addition this year I decided to do Advent; teaching them about the story of Jesus.  I’m not the craftiest of a person, so I researched some ideas online and found one that really excited me.  Now, my version isn’t exactly what I found, but it’s my attempt to make the story of Jesus come to life for my babies.  I’m going to share them with you each morning and pray that you’re blessed and enjoy them too.

Day 1 of Advent

Angel Gabriel
Luke 1:26-28,31

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you...You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus."
